Mac Mini Haul | Review

Hello Angels

What's your favorite makeup product among all?? Mine would be without doubt Blush and then perhaps lipstick!

I recently gifted myself 2 Mac blushes - Well dressed and Pink Swoon. I spend a lot of time researching and reading reviews before deciding on a color. And these 2 came out to be very appealing.

My love for well dressed is hard to explain. It sweeps away the title of my 'absolute favorite' color by far among all blushes i own. Light violet with a soft touch of pink. My description does no justice. It appears very light on skin and hence may require a couple of strokes for a visible impact.

Pink swoon - have you heard of Estée Lauders Electric pink? The color is beyond gorgeous. But unfortunately the same is not available in Dubai or on any online stores i checked. As an alternative (though not replacement for Electric pink though) i bagged Pink Swoon by Mac. Gorgeous pink. Looks kinda bright but when applied carefully it leaves behind a gorgeous pretty pink kissed cheeks. Gives your face an instant lift.

Here in Dubai, Mac stores stock less of refills. So though I have a blush palette, I still have to spent more and get one with casing and then depot 'em. What a pain!!

What's your favorite make up product? And help me if you know where I can find Electric pink.

Hope you guys had a Fantastic Christmas...

Barry M Polishes Mini Haul

Hello Angels
Let me begin by thanking all for the lovely comments on my last outfit post. I received lot of love via twitter and Instagram. Group hug and Love you all...

I dropped by Boots yesterday to stock up on Bioderma. Tell me if this happens to you? All my trips to Boots, end with me buying few unplanned for items. 3 Barry M polishes this time to be specific.

Cappucino - A lovely purply brown toned color. Not every girl may like it. Looks really good on fair complexion. But i personally like it on myself though am not that fair.
Station Road - A not too bright yellow with glitter. More summer appropriate. But it will be much loved  by me because in Dubai 8 out of 12 months is summer. I would prefer a non glittery yellow polish over this though.
Amethyst Glitter - Blue, pink, gold and purple glitter mixed with clear base. Application can be a little tricky. To get the job done easily dab the product on your nails instead of regular stroke.

All three colors require 2 coat application for a complete opaque look. I love Barry M polishes. Especially for their wide range of color selection. Plus they are very cheap without comprising on quality. A top and base coat will prevent chipping. Lasts for about 4 days. Out of the 3 i would recommend Cappucino and Amethyst Glitter. Cost $5 (Perfect x'mas stocking filler!!)

How do you like these colors? Which is your fav Barry M polish? Let me know.......

Media in the Making Event

Hello Angels
I had the absolute Perrrfect kick start to this weekend. I was kindly invited to the Media in the Making dinner party hosted by Anita. Anita is a Dubai based media personality. The concept behind Media in the making is to bring upcoming/aspiring bloggers of all genre, media professionals & entrepreneurs together under one roof to facilitate a platform for interaction and networking.

I have been blogging for over a year now and it didn't take me long to understand how important networking is in a bloggers world. It helps you find like-minded people and that always offers me immense happiness. Each blogger/artist/entrepreneur as his or her own unique style. But since we are in such huge numbers, it becomes difficult for some of us to rise above. This doesn't make any one less special though.

To market oneself isn't bad. Provided the same doesn't turn into bragging. Stay true and genuine and you will be recognized. I don't blog for publicity, i blog because its my passion. I love blogging. It makes me happy (so am being a 'lil selfish, whenever i blog!!)

The night was absolute gorgeous. Dinner was at a newly inaugurated Japanese restaurant named 'Katsuya'.
I got up close with ladies coming from different spheres of media.  On accepting the invitation, i was a tad bit worried if the event would turn out to be too formal. But oh my! What a night i had.... All the girls were extremely sweet and chit chatty.  Cherry on top the food & drinks were lip smacking good.

(all photos courtesy Grace Guino)

We headed back home kissing goodbyes and with a generous goody bag from Elemis. Hope to be a part of many more such events and gatherings.

What are your thoughts on networking? And tell me about your favorite Japanese food pick. Have a lovely weekend guys.......

YSL Youth Liberator Foundation | Review

Hello Angels
This week has been extremely extremely busy for me and hence the lack of posts too. But it's the weekend again and am all set with my bloggers hat on!!

I must say the influence of advertisement and social networking sometimes takes over oneself. I was in no need for a new foundation because I recently bagged the Laura Mercier Silk Creme. However, the much much raved about YSL Youth Liberator Serum foundation launched in Dubai recently and i found it impossible to put my curiosity to rest.

I tried the product on before purchase and finally bagged shade BD50 (Beige Dore')

Packaging
The bottle is indeed very pretty but honestly I was a tad bit unhappy because I have an history of breaking bottled foundation. Especially when the foundation in question is worth US$68. Butter Fingers! I love the easy to use, no mess pump. Life savers.

Texture
The texture is a bit thick and heavy. Slightly more liquid than semi liquid. I pump a tiny blob on the back of my hands, then dap the same all over my face using my fingers. Then blend using my Sigma F82. After application your skin feels slightly wet but the same dries out soon. I use the Rimmel Stay Matte powder to set.

Coverage and Finish
The foundation offers medium to high coverage. The finish is absolute gorgeous. I love the flawless coverage it provides. Lasts long, really long. This week though I slogged for long hours at work, my face gave out no signs of tiredness. The foundation is made to give a dewy/glowy finish. I love how most of my blushes look even more pretty on my cheeks with this foundation on. BONUS!!

Price/Shades
Definitely pricey. Wasn't expecting YSL to price any lower either. Moving on to shades...I was lucky enough to find a perfect match but few of my friends had trouble finding theirs. And with the product being this expensive it is not very feasible to buy 2 shades to mix.

Verdict
The product is really good. But do give the same a try before purchase to ensure you have the right shade.

Let me know how you like the sound of this foundation. which foundation do you use at present??

Micaroon Makeup Launch

Hello Angels
The very existence of this blog reflects my love for cosmetics and makeup. So it is but natural i get excited about new launches! Last week i got to attend the launch party of Micaroon Makeup. Yes, you heard me right - Micaroon! Inspired by the Real Macrons. It is not only the name but the packaging too that is highly inspired by Macrons. I found it bloody cute.

They introduced Lip sticks, Lip glosses, Blush, Eye shadows and Mascara. Other than the Mascara of course everything else comes in cute Macron look alike pots!

I got my hands on their Blush. This one here is called 'TOU'. Lingo for 'beautiful flushed pink'. The texture is creamy, which i like. Well pigmented and gives a very natural glow. Most of their eye shadows are vibrant and fun. I found the quality to be very good too.

These make a very pretty add on to your makeup collection. And I think they make fantastic gifts too. I got one for my friend already. She is a sucker for cute things too like me. The packaging is to die for!

There isn't a wide variety to choose from but nevertheless it is a good kick start. I really like the concept. Micaroon makeup is available only in UAE for now. Blush cost US$15

How did you like this brand? Would you buy one if available? Let me know...
Have you discovered any new brands lately???

Benefit's Rockateur & Hydra Lipcolor | Review

Hello Angels
Time for me to gear up in my Benebabe suit! On my plate i have 2 of the most looked forward to Benefit products for review. Rocketeur blush and Hydra Lipcolor.

Benefit's boxed blushes are very famous among beauty lovers. And the Rocketeur is one of their latest offering. Beside from the gorgeous packaging, i absolutely adore the 'Rock' embossing on the blusher. Makes it more attractive to a girl like me with a weakness for pretty things.

Moving on to performance (i sound like my boss!!)... Rockateur is a shimmery rose gold blusher. As much as i like the color, i was a 'lil doubtful about the shimmer. But i stand corrected. It left a very subtle yet beautiful shimmer behind. Not too bright.

Now here's the trick i wanna share. If you wanna go less glittery and more matte, use the blush from the center only. But if you like the shade with shimmer, swirl your brush into the box in a normal fashion. The glitter is more towards the edges.

I honestly like them with shimmer because they give my cheeks a healthy glow. It comes with a Kabuki style brush. Cost US$28

Moving on to the Lipcolor. Can i say i love the packaging again. The boxing is a keeper. As the name indicates these are Benefit's Lip color/ lip balm mash up. The product is enriched with mango butter,
shea and Vitamin E. It glides on effortlessly and keeps my lip hydrated. I usually use a lip balm underneath my lipstick for hydration but with this product i can totally skip that step.

What i really like is the fact it is available in 10 shades with an option of sheer, medium and full
coverage!!! How clever. I own the 'Wing Women'. A beautiful taupe color.

Do you own any one of these?? Are your a Benefit fan...what's your favorite product?? Let me know...helps me when I go shopping next time. Don't forget to click on the 'Notify Me' checkbox to receive my response ;)

MakeUpForever Full Cover Concealer | Review

Hello Angels
Even on a non makeup day, I refuse to step out without covering those heavy bags of mine (cheating a 'lil is granted!!). And if it has been one of those weeks were am deprived of sleep, then things get all the more critical. I have tried my luck with various concealers and correctors, including the Bobbi Brown 3 step - Eye cream, corrector and concealer trio. None gave satisfactory results. My heavy bags shows right through all those layers!

Desperate attempt to find a workable concealer lead me to the MakeUpForever Full Cover Concealer.

Let me begin with saying this product is Amazeballs!! Literally...Best of best concealers. It covers up dark/red bags like magic. The product as a very unpleasant thick texture to it, but given the fact it does an excellent job i gave in. The best way of application is to transfer a tiny blob on to the back of your hand, blend and then dap over your dark circles. Warmth of your finger will help blend and set the product. Wolaa your good to go. The same works over any blemishes or discoloration.

You need very little of the product to cover up those bags and spots. As a final touch i prefer using a little powder after application. It is water/sweat proof.

This product is by far the best i have used and actually Does the JOB!! Cost US$46. My shade No 10.

Another favorite among beauty bloggers is the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer. But i haven't tried them out yet though. Let me know which is your favorite concealer. Have you used the MakeupForver Full Cover??

Have a rocking weekend and take care

Marc Jacob Beauty | Review

Hello Angels
*Calling All Marc Jacob Fans*
A lot of anticipation and excitement buzzed around the launch of Marc Jacob beauty collection. The beauty world could hardly wait. The collection launched in Dubai last week, Finally!!

So this weekend, I paid a quick visit to Sephora. Lusting over the products beautifully displayed at the MJ Counter. My first purchase had to be their nail varnish. They have some very unique color selection and o my my the packaging! 10/10 for packaging.

I was torn between two colors, Petra and Le Charm. Bagged Petra but soon to go back for the latter. Petra is a very beautiful metallic, violet toned grey. If that makes sense!! I had them on for 1 week and faced no chipping issue.  For US$27 these are definitely on the expensive side.

To talk a 'lil about their other products. They have a vast selection of shades in foundation and concealers. I always appreciate when brands offer a good range of selection in shades. The blushes came in 5 shades only. But the texture was amazing. Uber soft and silky. Check out 'Reckless'.

So how did you like my MJ purchase? Have you got your hands on them yet? Let me know....

Juicy Couture Spree

Hello Angels
My weekend kick started with rain, thunder, lightning and Juicy Couture sale!! All in all the prefect beginning. Living in a desert you may realize how happy it made me when it started pouring in Dubai yesterday. Followed by a quick trip to Juicy Couture to check out their sale. I love their accessories way more than their clothing collection.

Accessories were reduced by almost 75%!! ahh! imagine my excitement. I looked very much like a toddler left loose. Picked 3 bracelets. 2 of them very similar to each other. One with stone and the other without. Even the tiniest of detail on the bracelet is very pretty. Gold colored arm candies are my favorite. They look so luxurious and rich.

How do you like my 'lil shopping spree buys? Do you own any Juicy Couture? I can't resist the urge to visit the store once again. Hopeless me!!

Have a great weekend lovelies. And to all living in UAE, enjoy the awesome climate....drive safe

Panasonic Hair Straightener EH-HS95 | Review

Hello Angels
Looking good makes us feel good and confident. Universal truth. And having a polished good looking hair forms a huge part of it for me. I style my hair almost daily. Beside from using hair serums and heat protection spray, it is also equally important to use a good styling gadget. I have been using Panasonic's EH-HW11 for almost 3 years now and last week they launched their new Nanoe Technology based products which included hair straighteners too.

I do know technical nitty gritty will bore you. But to understand the efficiency of this product, let me give you a quick brief up. Ordinary hair straightener leaves your hair cuticles open. And this is mostly the reason why your hair turns all frizzy and rough after styling. But the Nanoe technology ensures the moisture from your hair is kept intact. And this is one of the many benefits the product promises to offer.

My previous straightener had ceramic plates and this one uses photoceramic plates. Benefit? Photoceramic plates helps retain natural moisture of hair. This also helps in maintaining your hair color. I was able to effortlessly straighten my hair and they not only looked more polished and glossy but felt smooth too. The difference was evident and i loved the results. The product is sleek, light wight and travel friendly.

It offers 5 temperature settings with maximum as 200 degree Celsius. The power supply automatically shuts off in 60 minutes if kept unused. Very useful feature for people like me who forget to turn the gadget off. The product promises to retain moisture 1000 times more than ordinary straighteners. And how can i not mention, it comes in pink and looks very pretty with an LED display. Cost US$130.

I could see visible results after using this straightener and highly recommend it to each of you. Walk upto a near by Panasonic store and see if they offer a trial. This will help you decide.

Which straightener do you use currently? Would you choose to give this product a go?

Snoopy Mug

Hello Angels
Is it weird to have a dedicated post for a coffee mug??!! I think YES! But never the less i am going ahead....
This weekend while my husband was at the cinema counter booking tickets for Thor, i slipped away and paid a quick visit to the Virgin Store. Isn't Virgin simply fantastic...

With Christmas just around the corner, they have stocked plenty of chrimasy mugs. oooo i soo loved each one of them. My obsession with mugs is well known among my dear ones. So it came as no surprise to my husband when he spotted me holding onto this baby innocently!! teehee...i get away with it all the time.

Having the perfect mug to sip my coffee boosts my day a lot more and simply makes me happy. Am guilty of changing my coffee mugs too frequently though. Next waiting for Starbucks to launch their Christmas collection....

So do you like my find? Got a weak spot for cute girly mugs like me??
Have a lovely weekend angels...

Nail it!!

Hello Angels
This month i went a 'lil nail art crazy! Massively enjoyed painting and designing them. The one below is Movember inspired. The mustache was painted using a dotting tool and a toothpick!! These are fake nails by the way. I never grow my nails this long. Will end up hurting myself and others!!!

I wore the second, 3D Teddy bear one for my friend's baby shower. Love these cute nail stickers. Such occasions give me the perfect excuse to wear them. Some of you may find it too kiddish but i am a sucker when it comes cute things. Can't help it ladies....

Hope you guys liked my nail art. Nothing too major. But i had to share. Do you guys like nail art? or prefer the classic style? Can't wait for the weekend...

The Pixie Palette | Review

Hello Angels
My love for blushes and lipsticks overrides all other beauty products. Never was i a fan of eye shadows. I own a few staple colors (black & brown). But recently i got a little more experimental with my eye makeup, by using wee more color. I loved the change and wondered what kept me from them for soo long??!

As i began to enjoy colors other than black and brown, i needed more options. And the Pixie Palette came across to me as a fantastic option. A purchase from Feel Unique website. It is called the Pixie Eye Alchemy Assortment. Most colors in this palette are shimmery.

As you may have noticed the palette covers a lo of shades. From Dark to light. Which made it even more attractive. I tend to gravitate more towards darker shades because they highlight my eyes. This palette offers a wide range with 36 shades. I can even afford to wear them to work. These are well pigmented, blends easily with my real techniques brush and stays put.

Creating a palette takes time, if you opt for purchasing individual shades. So for those less patient and looking for variety this palette is a keeper. What are your thoughts on this palette? Would you like to own one?

Have a lovely week

Caudalie Divine Oil | Review

Hello Angels
My loves, looking for a miracle oil? Then this is it. Look no further! Caudalie's Divine Oil just made it to my holy grail/staple product list. My daily routine never included the use of any oil before. Skincare oils makes my skin too oily and greasy. Hair oils weighs down my fine hair.

I purchased the Divine oil purely driven by hype. But the product is indeed miraculous. I have normal to dry skin. This oil can be used on Body, Face and Hair!!! Tadaa... 3 in 1. It is nothing like the oils i have used before. Extremely light and no stickiness what so ever.

When you use several skincare products, it becomes difficult at time to judge the impact of one product. But results from using this oil was more than obvious and it made me sooo very happy. I apply it after shower on body, face and hair. I suffer dryness on my elbow joint, finger tips and cheeks. After over a week's use, my elbow joint no more appears white from dryness. They look well moisturized and neat. The same for my hands and cheeks.

Most nights i massage a small amount on my face before hitting bed. A 5 minute massage ensures good blood circulation and my face looks fresh and healthy the next day.

Moving on to Hair. Oils and my hair don't go well together. It weighs them down and attracts dust. But i took a leap of trust with the Divine oil. After application, my hair looked healthy, shiny and smooth without weighing them down! Love.....

For once am actually introduced to a product that stands up to all claims. The spray bottle makes it extremely user friendly. Gets the right amount out. The bottle in itself looks gorgeous. It as a very natural, light scent to it. Which i love.

Considering the fact it can be used for body, face and hair, plus does an extremely good job, it is absolutely worth US$41. Have you used the Caudalie Divine oil? I highly recommend it. Which is your favorite oil for face and hair?

Laura Mercier Silk Creme | Review

Hello Angels
Disclaimer - this post may cost you US$52
Foundation...ah! There are soo many of them out there. Each promising either coverage, glow, hydration, so on and so forth. This makes purchasing one indeed a task. At least for me. As you know my everyday, go to, feel light foundation is the Bourjois Happy Light. But one cannot survive without a full coverage foundation at disposal. So next up on my list for try out was Laura Mercier's Silk Creme Foundation.

Much loved and embraced by many beauty bloggers. So let me get on with the nitty gritty. The foundation is an absolute winner. It works wonderfully for me. Offers high coverage but feels very light and smooth on skin. Easy to blend and stays put all day without having to retouch or powder. Love the formulation because it effortlessly covers up blemishes and redness without clogging.

Full coverage foundations mostly give a very matte finish. But the Silk Creme formulation provides a smooth and airbrushed look, giving your face a fresh, healthy lift. I use the shade 'Cashew Beige'. The color looked quite dark for me but on blending, it instantly turned 2 shades lighter. Hence i would recommend you guys to use the foundation on before making a purchase.

It is an absolute delight watching this foundation do its magic. Plus you need a very little amount for full cover. The tube will last me long for the price i paid. So no worries on that front.

If you guys are on a look out for a new foundation, i would highly recommend this one by Laura Mercier. Let me know your thoughts if you have used it. Else tell me which is your favorite base foundation?

Frosted Purple by Gosh

Hello Angels
Nail paints! Joy in tiny cute bottles. Just take a look at this beauty by Gosh cosmetics. There was no way i was walking out of Boots without purchasing it. Such a beautiful grey/silver toned glitter called 03 Frosted Purple. This glitter polish is matte in texture and hence doesn't shine TOO much. Which for somebody like me is a win win. Because i don't like going overboard with glitter.

Looks FAB + stays put for long + doesn't chip + Cost $8 = A must buy!

How do you like it ladies? Check out the Frosted Sand Look collection by Gosh for more such beautiful glitter matte polishes. Also let me know if there is any polish you think i must check out from any other brand or Gosh! Hope your guys are rocking the weekend!

Happy Light Foundation | Review

Hello Angels
Time for another review! Bourjois Happy Light Foundation. When i read about the happy light range Bourjois was intending to launch, i was more than delighted. Because i LOVE their healthy mix range.

Happy light foundation promises 'Luminous and Flawless complexion in Any Light. O my! that's a huge claim! The foundation is light as air. No joke! It applies soo effortlessly on to skin. The texture and consistency is fantastic. In fact i may go to the extend of saying this foundation is by far the best in texture of all foundations i have used.

It offers light to medium coverage. The product feels more like an advanced form of tinted moisturizer. It leaves plenty of room for your skin to breath, doesn't feel heavy and stays put for a decent 6 to 7 hours.

It doesn't do a great job in covering blemishes or pigmentation though. To achieve best results i would recommend using a good concealer with this foundation. But for a normal day, since am not a huge fan of slapping loads of makeup, this 'lil guy will be my go to foundation without doubt. Costs only $25.

Have you used the Happy Light foundation? Whats your take on it? Have a Happy weekend loves....

Red Heels | Dune

Hello Angels
Hope you guys had a great weekend! I did...a hectic but yet fantastic one. Ok, now let me get quickly down to business becuase i can't wait to talk about this beauty i bagged last week. My First Red pumps!!! I had decided over the last week to get myself a pair of colorful heels. But Red or any other color was not in my mind. In fact i was looking for something in floral print.
But i fell for this beauty at the Dune Store. Take a second to admire them....
I LOVE IT...and if there is something beyond that expression, then that too! It costed me a bomb. But i just wanted them.

They did give the usual 'new footwear' shoe bite, but later my feet eased out in them. I love to wear the same with my denims or black trousers. Glamorous!!
How did you like my new heels? Do you own a pair of red pumps??

Ciate Chalkboard Manicure Kit

Hello Angels
Am going Manicure crazy this month courtesy Ciate! Manicure kits are super fun and you get the best from Ciate. I love anything chalkboard inspired. Menu boards, table cards and now NAILS! I can't stop starring at my own nails, as i type away this post. So am putting it out there 'I love this Manicure kit'. Simply because it is loads of fun AND looks amazeballs!!  The kit comes with 4 sketch pens, 1 chalkboard paint pot, 1 matte top coat and a manual.

Over the weekend i was busy doodling on my nails. Trust me it was soo much fun. The chalkboard paint dries within seconds, unlike normal polish. So you can spend more time designing than waiting for your nails to dry!

If you do not feel like using the sketch pens, paint glitter over the chalkboard nail paint. This looks fantastic too. Apt for a night out.

The only drawback is that the sketch pen is non water proof, so your design can wash off when in contact with water. The flip side to this is, while designing if you make a mistake it is easier to clean the same with water, not having to use a remover. The chalkboard paint however needs a remover for cleaning.
I think every girl needs to have one of these...it is simply fun and different. Agree?

How do you like this manicure set? Have you tired one before?

Take part in my Ciate giveaway . All the best!

*This set was sent to me by Ciate. However, my opinions are in no way biased by the Brand/persons
