Mac Mini Haul | Review

Hello Angels

What's your favorite makeup product among all?? Mine would be without doubt Blush and then perhaps lipstick!

I recently gifted myself 2 Mac blushes - Well dressed and Pink Swoon. I spend a lot of time researching and reading reviews before deciding on a color. And these 2 came out to be very appealing.

My love for well dressed is hard to explain. It sweeps away the title of my 'absolute favorite' color by far among all blushes i own. Light violet with a soft touch of pink. My description does no justice. It appears very light on skin and hence may require a couple of strokes for a visible impact.

Pink swoon - have you heard of Estée Lauders Electric pink? The color is beyond gorgeous. But unfortunately the same is not available in Dubai or on any online stores i checked. As an alternative (though not replacement for Electric pink though) i bagged Pink Swoon by Mac. Gorgeous pink. Looks kinda bright but when applied carefully it leaves behind a gorgeous pretty pink kissed cheeks. Gives your face an instant lift.

Here in Dubai, Mac stores stock less of refills. So though I have a blush palette, I still have to spent more and get one with casing and then depot 'em. What a pain!!

What's your favorite make up product? And help me if you know where I can find Electric pink.

Hope you guys had a Fantastic Christmas...

Barry M Polishes Mini Haul

Hello Angels
Let me begin by thanking all for the lovely comments on my last outfit post. I received lot of love via twitter and Instagram. Group hug and Love you all...

I dropped by Boots yesterday to stock up on Bioderma. Tell me if this happens to you? All my trips to Boots, end with me buying few unplanned for items. 3 Barry M polishes this time to be specific.

Cappucino - A lovely purply brown toned color. Not every girl may like it. Looks really good on fair complexion. But i personally like it on myself though am not that fair.
Station Road - A not too bright yellow with glitter. More summer appropriate. But it will be much loved  by me because in Dubai 8 out of 12 months is summer. I would prefer a non glittery yellow polish over this though.
Amethyst Glitter - Blue, pink, gold and purple glitter mixed with clear base. Application can be a little tricky. To get the job done easily dab the product on your nails instead of regular stroke.

All three colors require 2 coat application for a complete opaque look. I love Barry M polishes. Especially for their wide range of color selection. Plus they are very cheap without comprising on quality. A top and base coat will prevent chipping. Lasts for about 4 days. Out of the 3 i would recommend Cappucino and Amethyst Glitter. Cost $5 (Perfect x'mas stocking filler!!)

How do you like these colors? Which is your fav Barry M polish? Let me know.......

Media in the Making Event

Hello Angels
I had the absolute Perrrfect kick start to this weekend. I was kindly invited to the Media in the Making dinner party hosted by Anita. Anita is a Dubai based media personality. The concept behind Media in the making is to bring upcoming/aspiring bloggers of all genre, media professionals & entrepreneurs together under one roof to facilitate a platform for interaction and networking.

I have been blogging for over a year now and it didn't take me long to understand how important networking is in a bloggers world. It helps you find like-minded people and that always offers me immense happiness. Each blogger/artist/entrepreneur as his or her own unique style. But since we are in such huge numbers, it becomes difficult for some of us to rise above. This doesn't make any one less special though.

To market oneself isn't bad. Provided the same doesn't turn into bragging. Stay true and genuine and you will be recognized. I don't blog for publicity, i blog because its my passion. I love blogging. It makes me happy (so am being a 'lil selfish, whenever i blog!!)

The night was absolute gorgeous. Dinner was at a newly inaugurated Japanese restaurant named 'Katsuya'.
I got up close with ladies coming from different spheres of media.  On accepting the invitation, i was a tad bit worried if the event would turn out to be too formal. But oh my! What a night i had.... All the girls were extremely sweet and chit chatty.  Cherry on top the food & drinks were lip smacking good.

(all photos courtesy Grace Guino)

We headed back home kissing goodbyes and with a generous goody bag from Elemis. Hope to be a part of many more such events and gatherings.

What are your thoughts on networking? And tell me about your favorite Japanese food pick. Have a lovely weekend guys.......

YSL Youth Liberator Foundation | Review

Hello Angels
This week has been extremely extremely busy for me and hence the lack of posts too. But it's the weekend again and am all set with my bloggers hat on!!

I must say the influence of advertisement and social networking sometimes takes over oneself. I was in no need for a new foundation because I recently bagged the Laura Mercier Silk Creme. However, the much much raved about YSL Youth Liberator Serum foundation launched in Dubai recently and i found it impossible to put my curiosity to rest.

I tried the product on before purchase and finally bagged shade BD50 (Beige Dore')

Packaging
The bottle is indeed very pretty but honestly I was a tad bit unhappy because I have an history of breaking bottled foundation. Especially when the foundation in question is worth US$68. Butter Fingers! I love the easy to use, no mess pump. Life savers.

Texture
The texture is a bit thick and heavy. Slightly more liquid than semi liquid. I pump a tiny blob on the back of my hands, then dap the same all over my face using my fingers. Then blend using my Sigma F82. After application your skin feels slightly wet but the same dries out soon. I use the Rimmel Stay Matte powder to set.

Coverage and Finish
The foundation offers medium to high coverage. The finish is absolute gorgeous. I love the flawless coverage it provides. Lasts long, really long. This week though I slogged for long hours at work, my face gave out no signs of tiredness. The foundation is made to give a dewy/glowy finish. I love how most of my blushes look even more pretty on my cheeks with this foundation on. BONUS!!

Price/Shades
Definitely pricey. Wasn't expecting YSL to price any lower either. Moving on to shades...I was lucky enough to find a perfect match but few of my friends had trouble finding theirs. And with the product being this expensive it is not very feasible to buy 2 shades to mix.

Verdict
The product is really good. But do give the same a try before purchase to ensure you have the right shade.

Let me know how you like the sound of this foundation. which foundation do you use at present??

Micaroon Makeup Launch

Hello Angels
The very existence of this blog reflects my love for cosmetics and makeup. So it is but natural i get excited about new launches! Last week i got to attend the launch party of Micaroon Makeup. Yes, you heard me right - Micaroon! Inspired by the Real Macrons. It is not only the name but the packaging too that is highly inspired by Macrons. I found it bloody cute.

They introduced Lip sticks, Lip glosses, Blush, Eye shadows and Mascara. Other than the Mascara of course everything else comes in cute Macron look alike pots!

I got my hands on their Blush. This one here is called 'TOU'. Lingo for 'beautiful flushed pink'. The texture is creamy, which i like. Well pigmented and gives a very natural glow. Most of their eye shadows are vibrant and fun. I found the quality to be very good too.

These make a very pretty add on to your makeup collection. And I think they make fantastic gifts too. I got one for my friend already. She is a sucker for cute things too like me. The packaging is to die for!

There isn't a wide variety to choose from but nevertheless it is a good kick start. I really like the concept. Micaroon makeup is available only in UAE for now. Blush cost US$15

How did you like this brand? Would you buy one if available? Let me know...
Have you discovered any new brands lately???

Benefit's Rockateur & Hydra Lipcolor | Review

Hello Angels
Time for me to gear up in my Benebabe suit! On my plate i have 2 of the most looked forward to Benefit products for review. Rocketeur blush and Hydra Lipcolor.

Benefit's boxed blushes are very famous among beauty lovers. And the Rocketeur is one of their latest offering. Beside from the gorgeous packaging, i absolutely adore the 'Rock' embossing on the blusher. Makes it more attractive to a girl like me with a weakness for pretty things.

Moving on to performance (i sound like my boss!!)... Rockateur is a shimmery rose gold blusher. As much as i like the color, i was a 'lil doubtful about the shimmer. But i stand corrected. It left a very subtle yet beautiful shimmer behind. Not too bright.

Now here's the trick i wanna share. If you wanna go less glittery and more matte, use the blush from the center only. But if you like the shade with shimmer, swirl your brush into the box in a normal fashion. The glitter is more towards the edges.

I honestly like them with shimmer because they give my cheeks a healthy glow. It comes with a Kabuki style brush. Cost US$28

Moving on to the Lipcolor. Can i say i love the packaging again. The boxing is a keeper. As the name indicates these are Benefit's Lip color/ lip balm mash up. The product is enriched with mango butter,
shea and Vitamin E. It glides on effortlessly and keeps my lip hydrated. I usually use a lip balm underneath my lipstick for hydration but with this product i can totally skip that step.

What i really like is the fact it is available in 10 shades with an option of sheer, medium and full
coverage!!! How clever. I own the 'Wing Women'. A beautiful taupe color.

Do you own any one of these?? Are your a Benefit fan...what's your favorite product?? Let me know...helps me when I go shopping next time. Don't forget to click on the 'Notify Me' checkbox to receive my response ;)
